A 32-year-old prisoner, Steward Moala, of Faleas’iu has been charged for possession of marijuana.
Acting Police Commissioner, Fauono Talalelei Tapu, said that last Thursday evening, a duty officer at prison heard that there was a car parked on a road behind the prison near Falelauniu village.
The car was suspected to have been delivering marijuana to prisoners.
The police officer investigated the prisoners suspected and found three rolled joints of marijuana on Mr. Moala.
On Friday morning 4th April 2014, the Tafaigata police reported the incident to the office at Apia.
Mr. Moala has been taken back to prison and is waiting for his first court hearing on the 8th April 2014.
